I’m Tony Xu, a software engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area. I write field notes on software engineering, AI workflows, experimentation, personal systems, and family life, usually after I have built, tested, or lived with the subject myself.

I started this site in 2018 as a place to preserve practical lessons and ideas worth returning to. Away from software, I enjoy traveling with my family, making photographs, and occasionally recording travel videos.
